FAQ
So, when is it?
Saturday, 28th August 2027. The venue will be open from 1pm; please arrive by 1.30pm for the ceremony to kick off at 2pm.
Isn’t there a risk it’ll clash with Hull City in the Community Shield?
No, that’ll be a fortnight earlier.
What about a Spice Girls reunion, or Melanie C DJing in Lithuania?
It’s a calculated risk…
Where will it be?
Pedro’s Wine Bar, a great Portuguese restaurant in Southwark.
Is that pronounced s-
It’s ‘su-thock’. And yes, it’s owned by a fella called Pedro.
Is that near anywhere we might have heard of?
Tower Bridge is about a ten minute walk away.
Didn’t Fergie mistakenly sing London Bridge about that?
Yes! That’s close by, too.
Can you show us on a map?
Here’s the venue on Google Maps and Apple Maps.
Where should we stay?
We’ve put together an accommodation guide page here, including some special rates. Most are around Bermondsey Square, but practically anywhere near a tube would work (especially Northern or Jubilee lines), or somewhere on the Thameslink train line.
Can we st-
You absolutely cannot stay at ours.
How do we get there?
London Bridge station is a fifteen minute walk away, and King’s Cross/Euston are about another fifteen minutes on the tube.
Is there parking nearby?
Good luck finding it close to the venue. Canary Wharf might be an option over the weekend. You’re best using public transport, though.
Will there be multiple venues throughout the day?
No, just the one: ceremony and reception under one roof.
Can I bring a +1?
Please check your invite for your +1.
What about kids?
We’ve been together over a decade and are happy with the two of us.
And at the wedding?
We’d prefer our wedding to be a child-free zone (except for Lou’s niece, Olivia).
Is there a theme?
The theme is ‘wedding’.
Is the venue accessible, or have you done something weird and booked a restaurant in railway arches?
Both! The downstairs and toilets are fully accessible; the mezzanine bit less so, but all the action will be downstairs.
Is the bar going to cost me my life’s savings?
We know London can be quite pricey, so there’ll be some money behind the bar to kick things off. How long that will last depends on you!
What will the food be like?
It’ll be Portuguese tapas, with loads of Pastéis de Nata.
Sounds a bit foreign.
Yeah, it’s great! We’ll confirm the menu options in early 2027 and will accommodate dietary requirements. Keep an eye out here (or the WhatsApp channel) for this update.
Will the DJ play Come on Eileen? What about Agadoo? Can I request something?
Yes, no, and yes. We’ll add a place on the website for you to make a couple of requests in advance, or you can try your luck on the night.
What time will it end?
1am, with last orders at 12.30am.
Will there be anything happening on the Sunday as well?
Yeah, we’ll do casual drinks from early afternoon, so you can make the most of your bank holiday weekend before travelling home. We’ll share more details soon. Kids will be welcome to this part.
Can we post photos to social media, or will there be a Taylor Swift-like NDA?
We can’t afford Taylor’s lawyers, plus Lou wants to go viral, so please tag her (and preferably a few Spice Girls) in any photos you post. We only ask that you don’t take photos or film during the ceremony or speeches. We’ll have a couple of mates filming the ceremony, and our photographer should capture some pretty decent shots.
We’d really like to buy you a wedding present: where shall we send the toaster/air fryer we’ve seen on sale?
Having you there will be more than enough, and we appreciate that many of you are spending money travelling to be part of our day. However, if you insist, we’d really appreciate a contribution to the honeymoon fund via this PayPal link (or message us for account details, if you’d prefer). Lou has grand plans.
How can we get updates? Is there a massive WhatsApp group spamming everyone?
No, but we have a WhatsApp channel you can subscribe to. Nobody except us will be able to post or see your name/number, and we’ll only message you a handful of times.
